Travel

Oxford, Mississippi, U.S.A. is located about 75 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee. It can easily be reached via Interstate 55 (north-south connection) and Mississippi Highway 6/US Highway 278 (east-west connection). Car rentals are available for reservation at the Memphis International Airport.

No monetary travel assistance will be available through the Conference Organizing Committee.

Transportation

The University will provide a shuttle service for conference participants who arrive at the Memphis International Airport. The distance from Memphis to Oxford is approximately 75 miles or 1 hour and 15 minutes drive. Shuttle reservations must be made and paid for in advance. For complete information on the Memphis-to-Oxford University shuttle service or to register for the service, please connect to the secure online Conference registration site from which you may either register on-line or download a print version to send by fax. The cost of the shuttle from the Memphis International Airport is $135 round trip or $85 one way. Please meet your driver at the Northwest Airlines Baggage Claim Area, located on the ground floor in the center of the terminal.

While attending the conference, transportation to and from local off-campus hotels will be provided. For details on local transportation, please refer to the information in the registration packet which you will receive when you arrive at the Conference.

Weather

The weather in Oxford, Mississippi during September is usually quite warm. During this season, we can experience some cool nights.
